Help with Edecy
Edecy runs on one computer, shared with a small number of people. Most questions come down to that.
Getting in
Accounts are invite-only. Ask whoever told you about Edecy, or email the address
at the bottom of this page. Codes look like EDECY-XXXXXXXX.
A username and a password of at least 8 characters. No email address, no phone number, nothing to verify.
There is no reset link, because there's no email address on file to send one to. Email the address below and a new password will be issued directly. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, so nobody can look up your old one.
Open Account. You'll need your current password. Changing it signs out your other devices but not the one you're using.
Also under Account. It removes your account and signs you out everywhere, immediately and permanently.
When Edecy says it isn't available
Because everything runs on one graphics card, Edecy tells you honestly what state it's in rather than pretending:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Online | Everything available, full-size model. |
| Lite mode | The graphics card is busy with something else, so replies come from a smaller, faster model. Still works, slightly less capable. |
| Under load | The card is fully in use. Replies may be slow or queued for a few minutes. |
| Offline | The computer is switched off. Nothing is broken and nothing is lost. Try later. |
Features
Attach a photo and ask about it. Handwriting, receipts, error messages, a plant you can't identify. Keep it under about 6 MB.
Switch to image mode in the composer and describe what you want. Around 15 to 25 seconds. Prompts are screened first, and requests that sexualise minors are refused.
Video generation is granted individually, because one clip occupies the whole graphics card for five to seven minutes. If you'd like it, ask.
Open the site and choose Install app for a window and icon of its own. On a phone it's Share, then Add to Home Screen. Either way it behaves like a normal app and updates itself.
On your device only. Nothing is stored on the server, so signing out or clearing your browser data clears it for good.
Using your own server
The server address is configurable in Settings. If you run your own Edecy instance, point Edecy at it and everything works the same way against your machine instead.
Still stuck?
Email raven@edecy.com.au. It's a real inbox, read by the person who built this. Replies usually come within a day or two.
